Default 7HT accelerator pump question 1948 6 cylinder ford carb.

The question about the accelerator pump reminded me. There are 3 holes the link can go into on the lever. How do you find out if you are using the correct one? I put it back in the one it came out of, but...?

Glad it's easy to pull the carb off! It was in the wrong hole when I started out so might be why I have to bump the accelerator when I start out. LOL Thank you very much.
