Commercial Crank Hole Cover
I know this is a simple question but looking for clarity. I have a 1929 pickup. My shell is black as was original and my crank hole cover is as well. I was at teh MARC national meet for a few days this week and noticed most 28/29 trucks has a nickel or chrome crank hole cover with the black shell. I am curious what is original? Mine has always been balck.

Re: Commercial Crank Hole Cover
Page 15-9 of the RGJS – commercial shell crank hole cover was the same as the non-commercial shell.

Re: Commercial Crank Hole Cover
I agree with Neil, the cover should be nickel plated, as well as the special domed rivet securing it to the shell. Over the last 90 years plus, who knows what happened with your shell/cover along the way.

Re: Commercial Crank Hole Cover
I realize what the JSC says but I have a NOS shell that has a black cover with. This has been discussed here before. I have wanted to look at the A-8216-A print to see what it says the application was for them.

Re: Commercial Crank Hole Cover
I have a NOS L28/29 commercial radiator shell and it has a nickel plated crank hole cover with a nickel plated rivet. I have a photo of it if I can find it. Jim
