Anyone that is willing to share what they have learned from their experiences is appreciated by me and I'm sure by others. We all come up with a sharp barb once in a while, get over it and keep on posting.

I think it was Tom W that posted a tool he made to set the wire nails for these panels perhaps he will step I and share if not Tom perhaps who ever did post the tool they made. I used a simple upholstery hammer as Marco described plus I like to use a curved dental pic for pulling the fabric over the nail.

Can we please keep the bickering down to a reasonable level.

I once looked at a 30 4dr sedan that had fresh upholstery, shining a bright light into it as it was in a dark garage. NONE of the nails had been hidden! Quite a bright sight. FWIW

Not me. I know very little about upholstery.

Somebody made a tool with a solid wire inside a tube, the brad was dropped into the tube and the wire was hit with a small hammer. On the solid wire was a stop the kept brad from going to far into the wood.

So Lebaron is the way to go then with upholstery? I have a 28 Leatherback that needs the complete kit and I want it to last and don't want to get junk when the time comes.

That's a brad punch, a good hardware store will sell them. Bob

I've heard good things about Classtique Upholstery - Ford Model A & T Upholstery Kits.

Classtique is local for me in the Twin Cities. Elizabeth owns the company and they do a pretty good job on their kits. I installed one in my 28 special coupe. The material they use is the same or very close to what LB uses. I had to do a lot of fitting especially around the quarter windows. Their prices are a little less than LB's. Overall, I would say Classtique's kit are on par with LB's even though I have never installed a LB interior, but have seen a few.

Elizabeth will put the seat seams where they belong, and with the pleats to fit around the corners. I've seen several L/B seats with the seams placed around the top edge with no pleats, as you don't need pleats when you put the seam on the edge. I can't understand why L/B would place the seams in the wrong place? I guess because it's easier and many people don't know the difference.
