1936 Ford Rumble Seat Mounting Brackets
Hi guys, so my '36 5 window has a rumble seat, obviously installed by a previous owner. The back cushion is just fastened at the top to the trunk lid by two visible screws going into the hinge screw holes.
Does anyone have pictures of how the cushion should mount to the lid? . Any source for whatever brackets are needed? I don't see anything in either the Drake or Mac catalogues. Also, how is the bottom cushion held in place? Mine just sits there. And what is used to stop the trunk lid from just swinging til it hits the body? Mine has two wooden Stop brackets held in place by a couple of sheet metal screws. Steve |

Re: 1936 Ford Rumble Seat Mounting Brackets
40-714200 is the deck seat back hanger on the top of the open rumble spring set. It is attached with two screws/E going into D-nuts that are part of the deck door interior panel. One hanger on each side.
Look for D-Nuts near the bottom of the spring set, one on each side. There are metal straps around the main frame of the backrest spring set then get screwed to these lower D-Nuts. Mac's auto parts shows the upper hangers you can make the metal straps. Last edited by Terry,OH; 02-14-2018 at 07:44 AM. |

Thanks Terry, so does the bottom part of the back rest cushion just hang loose? Also, does anything hold the bottom cushion in place? Steve
