Default 1949 Ford Custom Body measurements

I just took possession of a nicely done ‘49 2 door sedan that has a chopped top. I am trying to determine HOW much of a chop was done. It looks more extensively chopped in the rear than in the front. Is there a web site that anyone can recommend where I can get the stock opening size of the side glass, front and rear?B2E064EE-36B8-40C2-826E-E43E3F2A7E20.jpeg

That's a nice lookin' car. I'm not a fan of chops, so I can't help you with the dimensions. However, I do believe the ONLY way to make a shoebox two door sedan look good is to chop it and get rid of those god-awful faux rear quarter windows.

If THAT is your car in the picture to the left, would you mind taking a tape measure and letting me know the height of the window opening is at the flat part of the front of the door glass to the bottom of the door glass opening and do the same to the rear Quarter window from the "B" Pillar, from the highest point of the opening to the bottom....Thank you!!

I'd be happy to, except that the car is in Minnesota and I'm in Florida until the end of May.

I'm sure someone else here would be glad to run out to their garage and take the measurement.

Using a photograph of a stock original car. Look for something you know the size of perhaps a wheel (15" ?) Use a small machinist ruler and come up with a scale so you can make measurements and compare.

Hi Al, just curious, do you know that a 15" wheel will actually measure
a little over 16 inches, outer edge to outer edge of the wheel...
