The Ford Barn

Don and I combine our trip to Honest Charley Speed Shop and Coker Tire, I wrote a new thread to separate the activities. Again we researched the Tires made by every manufacturer, attended car shows from southern Ohio to Hershey, Fordbarn info, pm's and many more. Found the best bang for our buck at Coker. (do not start the I had problem and fighting on this thread, it was our opinion and trip, we had a great time) Again we told them we were coming to site and met with all hands on deck. Took a tour at 2:00 PM, looked at every car and truck imaginable, motorcycles that would never end and the stories of acquiring the car, truck or motorcycle. Don found the tires he was looking for and we unloaded his old bias script Ford tires on rims in tire mounting shop. The next morning they started the removal of old tires from rims, and installation of 6:00 X R16 Classic Tires. New tires stand tall and are radials. I will have to get exact info today on process of mounting tires, but it takes time to check all his rims and pick the best. We/they check for egg shape, true straight and inspect spokes. Then place tire unmounted tire on rim and find the sweet spot so that it is as close to balance as can be with out weights. Again I will get more technical later. All for now.

Does not sell Goodyear, the correct tire for my ford, I believe Otherwise, excellent dealer.

Good story. These sort of posts are very helpful, rather than the rants you sometimes see.

Don, installed two of the new tires on his car, look great. Just wonder how long the plastic bags that are on the tires will last at 40MPH

I love that paint job. It reminds me of a girl I had one time. I really did have 2 real nice 35 coupes, one 35tudor, and three 35 pickups. never had a rag top. I guess I had share. Walt

It gets a lot of looks,Vermillion red, single stage urathane ,no cc,painted it piece at a time.sanded with 1500 & 2000 then buffed. Get a lot of comments on the paint job,

Don, Your car looks great! It was nice to visit with you and Bruce last week. Maybe we can get a group of Ford Barn folks to attend the next Coker Tire/ Honest Charley cruise in and open house, will probably be some time in April.
