Grease Gun Storing
How do you men keep your grease gun from leaking grease on the Floor? I usually just lay mine on the floor out of the way on a rag. In cold weather it's not so bad but in the summer it is always slowly seeping.

Re: Grease Gun Storing
A good quality grease gun does not leak...
You may have grease on the bottom side of the rubber seal / plunger |

Re: Grease Gun Storing
I leave my grease gun in the garage, since that's where I do my grease jobs.
It doesn't hurt to carry a small jar of grease, or a new tub of grease for the people that don't grease their wheel bearings, and break down while on tour. |

Re: Grease Gun Storing
I have mine hanging on the wall with a specially designed tuna fish can shelf that the nozzle is placed in with a depth of 5/16" of an inch off the bottom of said can. Plans and materials list will be provided when 13 requests have been made. Wall hanger design is still being worked on for complete perfection and not available - nail length not yet determined. Design to address the leaks from the grease gun body and plunger are in the works. Above plans are for the nozzle dripping only.

Re: Grease Gun Storing
Put a plastic bag around it with a rubber band tie-if you have to take it with you.

Re: Grease Gun Storing
a recycled plastic bread bag and a rubber band from the Sunday newspaper helps keep mine sealed and safe!

Re: Grease Gun Storing
Depending on the size of your gun I took a piece of PVC pipe and screwed it to the wall. The handle hangs over the edge preventing it from falling through. It keeps the gun upright and leaves no mess. Designed by Einstein.

Re: Grease Gun Storing
I keep mine in my plastic oil drain pan - after emptying the oil I wipe the pan out with paper towel so the gun doesn't get oily.

Re: Grease Gun Storing
Solution against leaking grease gun in your garage :
Give it to your neighbour, and when you need it ask if you can use it. |

Re: Grease Gun Storing
I store my drippy grease guns in a metal 5 gallon pail, hanging on the side w/the handle on the outside, the hose and grease chuck on the inside. There is also some big old oil cans stored in that pail.

Mine came with a cap. Hang it on a nail in the shed.
