Default 1946 ford lamp circuit breaker help

I just got a 1946 super deluxe sedan and I am in progress of going through and fixing everything that is not working.

In looking at the lamp circuit breaker under the dash there is a large capacitor that was not hooked up when a replacement harness was installed who knows when.

Can anyone please advise me on where this capacitor should be connected?

It is 6 volt positive ground system. I have a wiring diagram but it does not show capacitor's.

It should not be there as Henry built it.

That's is a radio static suppresser. No need to hook it up unless you have interference issues with the original radio.

IF you find the need for it, typically it gets hooked to the fuel gauge.

If you use the capacitor, be sure to observe polarity. Remember, the car frame is positive as far as capacitors are concerned.

If your updated radio electronics are similar to the job Ralph the Radio Guy did for me, you won't need the capacitor.

Are capacitors polarity sensitive? We mount ignition condensers with the case grounded, mounted same on positive or negative ground cars.

Nope, I've sold over 500 to guys with 6 or 12 volt cars, positive or negative ground and they all worked fine.

Now that's ignition condensers; for radios, it might be different when used inside, but for suppression purposes, I doubt it.
