Default Noisy Distributor?

Have a freshly rebuilt crab cap distributor.
Sounds as though there's a noisy bushing scenario in it.
Car runs fine, it's just an annoying noise.

Does this sound like something possible?
What to do?

I may pull it off and throw the old on to make 100% certain it is the distributor, but by listening with a stethoscope it seems targeted to the new unit.

Thanks

fresh rebuilt....send it back to the rebuilders if you think you have a bad bushing. Did you lube the rear bushing before you installed it? I would guess the rebuilder did not consider this noise an issue.

Leaky vac brake piston/cylinder can make some pretty strange noises.Try pinching off (rubber hose)or disconnecting the vacuum line and see if the noise stops.

UPDATE:
I unscrewed the hard vacuum line at the distributor and unattached it.
Fired the motor and it was pleasantly quiet.
Screwed it back in and it is annoyingly noisy.

What next?

Remove the adjusting nut , loosen adjustment screw and turn inward 3-4 turns. Apply some sealer to threads( usually not needed) and try it again.
I have had a couple squeaking/squealing vacuum pistons over the years....

If that dont work send it back and i will redo it with a different case the day i recieve it,,,,,,

You could grease the piston but it'll only work for a while.Other than that, switch cases or send it back to the rebuilder. The problem sounds like a worn vac brake piston or cylinder.I'm not the greatest mechanic....just speaking from experience.
