[QUOTE=scicala;1682757]I said it once before...…, I sure wish I didn't throw out all of those old condensers when I was younger.

Those condensers would likely all be bad by now. They have a shelf life due to age deterioration of the paper between the layers of foil. I run Pertronix in my distributor to get away from worn or burnt points and crappy condensers. But I carry a spare stock distributor in the trunk, to get home on if some Pertronix component goes flakey.

I know this has been discussed before, but it was for a V8, and not a V12. Not sure if the fuel pumps or stroke was the same.
Hopefully someone will chime in.

From what I've read, it is .200" for V8's. I would think it would be the same for a V12, but I've never seen a spec. All I know is that when installing a fuel pump (I always do it with the pump attached to the stand), if I don't feel some resistance (against the spring in the pump), I take it apart and turn the engine until the push rod is all the way up and try it again.

Ok guys here's what I've found. After replacing a leaky head gasket and some bad ignition condensers it still had a fuel problem. I pulled the fuel pump and stand and noticed the fuel pump stand had cracks on both sides at the base beside the bolt holes. Upon further investigation the base of the fuel pump stand was badly warped. With the fuel pump stand with pump and rod in hand it appears that the tube on the bottom of the stand was long enough to contact the umbrella on the rod and pushed the whole works up causing the cracks in the stand therefore losing some stroke on the pump. Installed new stand, pump and a short tube. All is well and it has left the building back to the owner. !!!
