Sheetmetal Identification Help
I received a bunch of extra sheet metal with the roadster I bought. I need some help identifying it and perhaps a price that would be reasonable if I were to sell it on the Swap Meet. I think they may be for a Sport Coupe as it has similar paint to the rear quarters that I received.
Any help would be really appreciated, thank you. |

Re: Sheetmetal Identification Help
Top picture is a 30-31 panel above rumble lid. Not sure what body, I guess coupe. I am certain it is not cabriolet. I know it is 30-31 because of the position of the rumble catch on the gutter.
The T shaped part is the panel below rumble lid inner reenforcement. It looks longer and you would need the over length at the center of the T to know exact fit. My guess 30-31 all except cabriolet cause it looks long. The third picture down is a coupe roadster or cabriolet rear cross sill that is missing the inner structure. If it has 3 normal holes for rivets it is coupe roadster if it has 2 countersunk holes for a flat head wood screw then it is cabriolet. The inner part is different for cabriolet, but that is missing so I would need a side view to id it. The part with the wood on it is a package tray for 30-31 coupe/ slant cabriolet. The last part is a coupe roadster rumble seat pan used on all coupes and roadsters. It could be modified to work on cabriolet. It has the reinforcements used with a rumble seat. At least some of these parts came from a factory rumble seat car. |

Re: Sheetmetal Identification Help
Thank you for all the information Kevin. Any idea what the long piece with the blue paint on it is?

Re: Sheetmetal Identification Help
That is the rear sub-frame cross-member (missing the inner reinforcement) that Kevin referred to in his third paragraph.
I think the only item missed (?) was that shown in pics 3 & 4 - hard to tell, might have to post some pic's from different angles. |

Re: Sheetmetal Identification Help
maybe it will help to see where those pieces go on a 30 sport coupe
the first picture corresponds to your first picture the second and third photo shows the inside and outside of the panel that goes below the rumble lid,you have just the inner brace this is for the 30 sport coupe it appears your inner brace is for a 28-29 coupe or a cabriolet of all years but this photo shows where it goes the big hole is for the top bolt on the spare tire mount the third photo shows this panel in place and the yardstick is pointing to the last part you had questions on the two capture nuts are for the bottom two bolts of the rear tire mount as kevin said, its missing the inner part if you need more photos holler tom |

Re: Sheetmetal Identification Help
3 and 4 look to be part of the same piece as shown in the first photo
there is no bottom bumper mounted on any brace for a rumble lid it is mounted on the floor pan as kevin has pointed out the deck lid on a coupe has the bottom bumpers fastened to the inner panel |

Re: Sheetmetal Identification Help
OK, that makes sense now. I was lumping cabriolet and sport coupe into the same category as I thought they were the same...whoops!
I have the panel below the rumble that the brace attaches to...I guess they belong together! What would one pay for the parts I have pictured here? Thanks again! |
