It looks like a normal 28/29 side cover to me.

Not true, Jason, The side cover is upside down in the picture. It is a regular 28/early 29 side cover with the oil return mount positioned up a little higher than the later style. Note the 6 bolt holes on the bottom (top in picture). I have several just like it. Sorry, Jason, it is not unique.

Great! I thought I would have to open up the other side of the block to make it work! LOL! Anybody need it? Make an offer!

Tony,
Many of the covers I have seen have small hairline crack(s) between the three ribs where the bolt that holds the oil return pipe is installed. You would be wise to clean the machined area off and carefully check to see if there are any cracks in that area. They are sometimes difficult to see. I think the cracks are caused by someone tightening the bolt to tight.

Joke's on you. Jason wasn't serious in his post, only making light of the fact that it's not unique, and is posted upside down.

Guys, i think riverpop was joking too... Poking fun at himself for posting the picture upside down... He got me at first, until i saw the picture of his 'lil' hotrod... That's not store-bought glass junk... I'm sure he knows what a flat-4 valve cover is... Either way, pretty funny stuff...

I know that base on the year that some oil return to the side cover vary in location about 3/4 of an inch up or down. Not sure which yours is.
