radiator firewall- to -shell rods length, etc.

Have an original nice '31 s.s.shell which fits perfectly to a new Brassworks
radiator. The question is how long are the '31 support rods supposed to be ? Mine are 25 3/4" from inside dome end to radiator threaded end,with 1 1/8" long threads ( @ radiator end) . I could use another 1/8" to 1/4" of threads to get the radiator / shell top a little closer for more even hood alignment.
I'm not sure if the hood is original but fits pretty well all around.
