This tool should make it possible to remove stuck plugs (haven't tried it though)

Good luck,

Plugs and wires available most anywhere. Cap points and rotor arm, hmm, some odd stuff going on there . Is that a late vedette engine? Looks like it with that sticky up dizzy. Might be same parts as French Big flathead. I ain't got one to compare sorry. But Mart has mucked about with the big ones, maybe get some pic comparing going on. Can you get vedette parts over there? Think they used these mid fiftys, maybe earlier or later but around there.
V8 60 guys, have a look at this engine. Got all sorts of different going on. Ignition and that head! No center water hose. Does this engine have one or two water pumps?
Martin.

Not yet, but it's really old and replacement should be nice..Are these distributor caps so hard to get?
I already looked on club vedette in France, but you need to be member first to get access to the parts :-(

Try Techni-Tacot.
Ask him. He is an expert.

Or search Leboncoin (Type "Ford Vedette")

Daily routine..Would you guess this would fit you 60 hp flathead? :-)
It should be a 2.225cm3 60 CV engine

Hard to say: Mine is 67 HP. (French boosted it up by rising the compression - and did a lot of other things… including altering everything to metrics...

Charming piece of history! A flair of black and white Paris. AND with the good v8 sound!

Just add a lot of oil, grease, solvent, cigarettes, wd-40 and hours. Its all they need!

Since that distributor obviously has nothing at all in common with the ones on US and British 60's...I would try to identify it by brand (SEV?) and then find a cooperative parts dealer willing to let you see if your parts match anything else.

How are you doing with the Matford? Has it been started up?
