installing a 37 steering box in a 36
Hello all, Long time. My car is all set thanks to many of you helping me out with all kinds of issues.
I am currently helping my 79 tear old dad work on a 36 that he wants to put a 37 steering box in. We installed the box, lined up the bottom hole, slotted the middle hole slightly, and welded in a threaded stud for the top hole. So the box is in... I'm looking for a pitman arm... After researching a little here on the barn, I got a part number #21-A359-3015. I called my antique dealer and he has no info on this part? So I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of how long the pitman arm should be. I also read that using the original; light switch may need consideration. anyway, Thanks again for being here and I'm sorry my dad won't just keet the 36 box that fits like a glove. He claims its like having power steering... thanks, cp |

How tough was it to install? Was your engine out? Mine engine is still in and I am afraid if i try to remove the exhaust manifold with the engine in, I will break the bolts off.
