Default 1933 5 Window

There is a 1933 5 window coupe with all steel Ford parts listed on the Early Ford V8 Club classifieds. Poster is not listed in the 2017 V8 Roster. SBC & 5 speed for $22,000 in Hawaii. Seems to good to be true.

I sent him an email requesting a copy of his drivers licence, insurance forms and vehicle registration and who he worked for. Didn’t hear back from him. I sent him the URL of the website in England later. Finally, I see the post has been removed from the EF V8 classifieds.

John

Looks like a '33 with '34 front end to me, doesn't look like the doors have the roll back windows, but could be a '34 with '33 doors If you could get more photos, it's easy to tell if you could see rear wheel wells, firewall, cowl etc.

Be careful. Hawaii is one of the dampest places in the U.S. Rust is a problem.

Not really easy to see, but the wheel bolt pattern looks to be smaller than 5-1/2" early Ford. Wonder what's underneath for running gear? DD

Here is a picture of the Five Window Coupe advertised for sale on the Early Ford V8 Club Website. It is fitted with a 34 Grille.

Hold on to your money fellas....that car is here in England...I thought I'd seen that before. If you go onto carandclassic.com you will find it under 1930' s Ford section. It is owned by a well known HotRodder over here.Unless it has been sold to someone from Hawaii who then wants to sell at a loss, then Id say it is a scam.

HERE IS THE AD DESCRIPTION...EVEN SAME PICTURE.

1933 Ford 5 Window Coupe

I have for sale a 33 coupe which is owned by a very close friend of mine who lives in California.
He had the idea of keeping the Coupe here in the UK and using it whilst over on vacation as he's an ex-pat with family here he makes the trip often.
Unfortunately or fortunately depending on your view point things have change for him and he now wants to sell the Coupe to fund the purchase of a Hot Rod he has been after for quite some time, hence the sale, which is the task given to me.

He has owned the Coupe for many years, He found it through a friend who knew of it just sitting in an old boys barn, yes it's a true survivor!
The history is vague but looking at the work and parts used we think it was built sometime in the 60's or 70's and updated in the 80's with a healthy 305 small block Chevy and a T5 5 speed transmission.
The rear end is an early ford probably 34 to 37 era though we're not sure, Wishbones are split, has a transverse leaf spring and an open drive conversion is fitted.
Front end looks to be a "Dago" dropped axle with hairpins and tube shocks, Front brakes are disc early Ford rears.
The frame is mostly stock and has been "kicked up" at the rear to achieve the low stance, it does sit and look right! To be honest some of the work underneath is not that great in the visual department but it's safe!! Time has been put into this to make it so. Both my friend and myself have driven this Hot Rod hundreds and hundreds of miles in California to shows, Drags racing or just hanging out, you'll have to look hard to find a smoother driving Hot Rod than this one
Other than the filled roof and where the rear floor has been modified to accommodate the frame kick up, the body, is unmolested and in incredible shape. It's unlike most 34's that are rusted out and or covered in repair panels, look at the pictures in the link around the cowl vent, bottoms of the A and B posts, screen opening, you'll have to agree it's a real good un!
All window garnish's and door covers are there, working cowl vent and opening screen, glass is de-laminating but still usable if you like the look. Original Ford locks and window winders etc. The grill is original Ford and very very straight with excellent chrome.
Fenders are glass but originals are readily available as are repo's the running boards are repo steel ones
Interior is good but could use a little help here and there
You can drive it as is, and indeed drive it away or it's a solid basis for a high $ car...your choice.
If you really know 33-34 Fords then you will know the 65 subtle differences between the years, and yes its more 34 than 33 so we think its a very very early 34 registered in the USA in 33
I've registered it here in the UK and have the V5c in hand all details are correct and is currently on SORN

Whilst I don't know this Coupe as well as I'd like, I can answer most questions and what I don't know I can find out. Preferring a phone call rather than lengthy emails.

Part Ex might be considered, especially if it's a wheel barrow full of cash!

Somebody should inform the Early Ford V8 site that they have a scam advertisement on their site and get the administrator to remove it. Does anyone know the correct person to contact? I see they have a contact us page on the site but an email to the person in charge would probably be better.

I paid what I though was top $$ for my 34 3w 18 yrs back, seems awfully cheap now. brother bought a new Jag at the same time,he just off loaded it last month for peanuts and was glad to see the back of it,not so the 34.

I've already let the administrator know after seeing this thread this morning.
