Default mounting clincher tires

Here is how I mount 30x3 1/2 tires : take an old 21" model a wheel, weld an inner rim to the top of it and bolt it through the center with a piece of all thread to a sawhorse. bolt the clincher rim to it and it is just the right height to mount the tire and tube in the regular way. Sure saves wear and tear on my 83 year old back.

I let the tires sit in the sun and let them get warm. Then put the tube in the tire and inflate about ten pounds of air. Put the valve into the hole in the rim and using 3 tire irons put both beads on at the same time.

I bought this to assist me as I do most of the local T Clubs folks' tires - my knees can't take the floor anymore ! It will hold a clincher rim as well.

That's the same one as I use. I use it mostly for motorcycles but it works for automobile rims as well. No-Mar brand.
