Re: Battery
Nothing special. a Group 1 battery size will fit. Just hook it up the correct way.

Re: Battery
Pretty much match up what you have size wise. I assume it's under the driver's side. You don't need a fancy one with a lot of cranking amps either. Make sure your cables are good. Just a plain jane one from any auto supply store. By the way, that's sure not a dumb question. You should read some of mine.

Re: Battery
If your car is a positive ground, make sure you hook up the
cables just the opposite way you would if it were a negative ground. Cable size should be about "0" or 1 gage. Just a plain old six volt group 1 battery will do fine. Jack

Re: Battery
While you have the battery out, I suggest that you make sure that you have a clean ground. I like to remove the ground strap annually and clean the connection to the frame. I also recommend a second ground - from the positive terminal to the transmission. Gar Williams

Re: Battery
I think you mean from the Positive terminal to the transmission unless you have wired your system for negative ground. The extra cable is usually put between the ground bolt on the frame and the transmission.

Re: Battery
A ground strap from the negative battery post to the the transmission? You have to be kidding! Can you say "fire" or melt-down?"
Unless the electrical system has been changed over to negative post grounds you'll be in for a big surprise when the negative post is connected to the transmission. Just another example of the "great" information that shows up from time to time at this site.! |

Re: Battery
OK,
From what I can find, 6v group 1 batteries are found by the following numbers; NAPA - BAT 7244 Exide - 7200 Tractor supply - Com 1 HP (part number 0470506) I think. Autozone - 1-6 volt Any others?

Ultrapower #901 - 700 cca, it's a commercial battery and lasts longer than one from the the chain auto supply stores.
