Default Help w. IDing my Model A Engine

Hi there,
I own a 1930 Coupe with engine #A3514922 w. a “star” symbol at end.
Is this the engine that came with this car?
And what does the “star” mean?
TIA
Chris

There will be a star at the front and rear of the serial number ex; *AXXXXXXXX* it is correct and is how Ford did it. All engines will have it that way but does not mean it came with the car new. Now if it is the same as the frame number then yes it is original to the car. But you would have to remove the body and check the number, it's under the drivers side cowl, top of frame.
If you want more information post your question on the A forum. This section is for questions about the site not car questions.
