Yes an upgrade like the one pictured. I am aware of Hot Rod Works setup. There were some articles posted in the past on Ford Barn by members who have done the machining / fabrication themselves, however I can’t seem to find their posts.

Having converted a lot of banjo rears to drop in axles for the street and for the family race car which has run as fast as 229 MPH with our simple back yard conversions. I can help you with some information. The hot rod works side gears are custom made only in the area where they mesh with the early Ford spider gears. The hub diameter is not special its the same size as the 8 inch and 9 inch Ford side gears. If your idea is to use the 7.5 side gears your going to be in uncharted waters. Question are you sure the 7.5 side gears will mesh correctly with the Ford banjo spiders? Never had a need to try them so I'm not sure. Ronnieroadster

Re: Need help
If you search the hamb you will find many discussions about this topic. In one, JSEARY, whom we have not heard from since June, had some other side gears he was using that he claimed fit as good as the Idaho ones. Sorry, I cant remember what he was using, but jerry was no dummy

Re: Need help
I'm reluctant to post this, but JSeery was a frequent contributor here on the 'Barn and I took every post he made to heart. This obituary matches his biography on his profile. It looks like Jerry and his mother and father all passed within a couple of years. My condolences to their family.
