Default crankshaft cheater key

has anyone used a 5deg cheater key on a 59 24 stud standard cam, and what effects did it have yes it will advance the crab dissy also but with the fuel we have here downunder that should not be a problem (91 oct is our low grade )

I have never used the key mentioned because I use other methods to retard the cam.
The crank key method will work fine for some cams in some applications but it is not very precise unless you have a box full of keys.
Some times you only need 2 degrees retard, some times 2 degrees advanced.
Offset keys are easy to make at home but few will bother because they are not testing on a dyno. If you are racing, 2 hp is a worthwhile gain.
