Default Iron piston

Does anybody know where I can find info on the material and process Ford used to manufacture their iron pistons. I have a iron piston out of an original '41 engine. I cleaned it up and it is a work of art! It appears to be made of cast steel. Having worked in the automotive OEM,I can say that the quality of this piston is amazing! Would just like to find out more. Thanks.
