Carb fuel inlet thread
I am rebuilding a Zenith carb using the Tom Endy guide and I want to set the float level. I can't find a brass fitting at the local auto parts store or Home Depot that has the 1/2" 20 thread so I can make a test jig. All the brass fittings have a pipe size measurement which is very different than the bolt size mentioned above. I can order the fittings in a Model A catalog but I don't want to wait a week. Any suggestions where to get the correct fittings for the test jig? Is there a pipe size to bolt size cross reference?

Re: Carb fuel inlet thread
I just bought some the other day to hook up a Model B carb...cannot remember off hand what the thread ended up being however, did you ask to go behind the counter to there bins of fittings? I can almost never find what I need out on the shelf up a lot of places still had a semi decent selection behind the counter you just have to ask. Make sure you take your carb or upper housing with you. I got my fittings from O'Rielys
After some research it looks like it is 1/2 20 pipe thread Last edited by KMeredith87; 09-02-2014 at 07:51 PM. |

Re: Carb fuel inlet thread
Try an Ace hardware store. Take along a carburetor or a fuel line to compare. You want a fitting that uses a furrel.
