Hi guys, I have a 64 Falcon with the Ford O Matic (not cruise 0 matic) tranny. The o ring on the kick down lever is leaking. Can I drop the pan and replace the O Ring with the tranny in the car? Wish it had a seal instead of o ring.

OK I pulled the pan, and there is no way to replace the o ring without dropping the entire valve body out of the case. You cannot slide the shaft out with the valve stack in the case.

O well that is how my luck goes.

You have the F/M/2, correct?

Dropping the valve body is not all that difficult or take it to a well established TRANS SHOP.

No, this is not the tranny I have. These pictures show a seal on the shaft, and I have an o ring.

The heading reads F/M/2 but then describes a TORQUE-FLITE or Section M - Three Speed Hydramatic/M - 3 spd

My mistake for not proof reading ...

You can buy on CD the SHOP MANUAL, the MASTER PARTS CATALOG and usually the TRANS SHOP MANUAL. Nice to have ...
