Default Gas visible in gas gauge on dash

When I fill tank above 1/2 full the gas is visible in the gauge on my 31 SW. Is this a common thing or is there a problem some where? Thanks for any comments.

Yes that's normal, however it's not half full, more like 9/10ths full. If your gauge says 1/2, then you need to adjust it or replace gas logged float. Chuck

I think you answered your own question .

A visable gas gage , it is what it is .

Normal to see gas in gauge when full, not usually when just over half. I think your cork might be "gas logged" and you have more than half a tank. Just guessing !!

So now you know why one MUST always drain the fuel way down and disconnect the battery when working on the fuel tank gauge.
