Default Light switch yardstick trick

When you need to put on the spider, use a yardstick.

A piece of gaffer tape works well too.

What’s the difference between gaffer tape and duct tape? I’d never heard of gaffer tape before.

Gaffer tape is used in the film industry. It is flat black to keep the reflection down so the cameras don't pick up a reflection while filming.

Fred, I have a small collection of vintage Yard Sticks that are more novelty than anything, but where are you buying wooden yardsticks that don't break when being bent??

Gorilla Tape is just as good as gaffers tape.

But too sticky to put on your light switch- use layers of wide 3M masking.....

Gaffers Tape also doesn't leave adhesive like duct tape does;comes up easily. Rips easily like duct tape, but its also more expensive. It's typically used to tie down wires to the floor or stage.

x2 with Harp, that is the real reason for Gaffers.

I realize this is WAY off topic, but where do you guys purchase 'real' Gaffer's tape? I need to find some place online because Gaffer's Tape sold local to me by a music box store is much akin to black duct tape that often leaves tape residue and the white grid pattern when I pull it off of monitors or cords.
