Name these parts
Need to know what some of these parts are and what year they came off.
I have a 1928 closed cab. But it came with lots of extra parts. Thanks |

Re: Name these parts
Cast iron sediment bowl (not reproduced to my knowledge), Center bumper clamp, and a bellhousing/transmission.

Re: Name these parts
It depends on what month your CCPU is?
Of the 5 photos, the all will fit / work too a point (transmission). The center bumper clamp is for an early car and also a repop.... |

Re: Name these parts
I was told the transmission was out of a AA ? I do not need it, The one in my truck is rebuilt. The thing that says ford on it looks old! was that on a truck too? Do you think the sediment bowl came off of a 28 PU?
Thanks |

Re: Name these parts
The 28 AA's used the same transmission and bell housings as the passenger cars. Difference was in the clutch springs for the multiple disc clutch. It does not appear that is a multiple disc clutch transmission, but is correct for a passenger car. Rod

Photos 1. Gas sediment bowl...cleans the fuel...fits on the passenger side upper firewall, engine compartment. 2. Center bumper clamp..for the front bumper...fits in the center(centered) between the top and bottom of the 2 bars. 3. Like I said, it depends on what month your CCPU / Truck is. Don't get rid of the transmission,...there's parts on it you may need. |

Re: Name these parts
The gas sediment bowl is not the earliest version - that one has an extra reinforcing "ring" on the outlet nozzle. But still, depending on when in 1928 your truck was built it may be the correct one.
The transmission is a three speed - and should be identical to the one in your truck. Ford used 3 speed trannys up until the introduction of the Warner Gear 4 speed in October 1929. I'm pretty sure the clutch/bellhousing on that tranny is for a single plate clutch. The little door centered directly in front of the shifter lever is a different shape (bent) on the multi-disk clutch. Again, this one maybe like what is in your truck? Joe K

Check this thread for info on how to get the Engine & Frame numbers from your truck. If they happen to match, you've got a rare combo as most have had engines replaced... https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showth...rame&showall=1 After you get the numbers, go the to following page to determine when the engine was stamped... http://www.modelahouse.com/cgi-bin/enumbers/numdate Also, you might find another stamping on the sub-rail in front of the seat, near the drivers side. This is were they stamped the body/cab assembly info. |

Re: Name these parts
The clutch housing cover plate for the multiplate tranny is wider than it is tall.

Re: Name these parts
And right near the patent data plate on the driver's side firewall (more or less directly opposite the gas filter on the passenger side) there SHOULD be a date number for month and year. I think mine reads 03 29.
This above the partition line between the gas tank and the actual firewall IIRC. Joe K

Re: Name these parts
Bill messmer again, I'm the one who needs the Fuel filter. The #2 photo is a badge found on the front bumper in the center, I may be interested in that also. the third fourth and filth are photos of Model A transmissions.
