Angry 1930 roadster door security

The doors on my 1930 Model A deluxe roadster occasionally pop open by themselves. The existing latches do not seem to be very secure.

Does anyone know if a more secure latch is avaiable or a way to stop this dangerous problem. Thanks...Snowbird06.

Well, the problem is likely that either the Striker or the Latch needs to be rebuilt, (maybe both!!) --not retrofitted. Rebuild them first and see if the problem persists. If it does, I would be looking for torsional flex which could be from a broken/cracked quarter panel support, or loose body bolts, ...or a weak frame.

I don't think there is any problem with those latches if they are set up right. I have a 31 Hot Rod roadster with original latches and the doors stay shut and work fine.
Disclaimer: No Model A was ruined to build this thing.

Check to see if your hinges are solid. I had a loose hinge on mine and it popped open at the most inopurtune times. I had to do some welding to fix it.

I hope you have installed and wear seat belts, as the ground can be awful rough if the door pops while taking a turn or hitting a bump.

Wish I could help on the doors themselves.
