I believe the "A" Model color, Andalusite Blue, is a little darker. MIKE I can't edit in a photo. I'll make a new post. Sorry ! MIKE |

Re: darkest blue Ford made?
Andalusite blue gets my vote. We found an exact match once with a Volkswagon paint chip. It should be easy to find the formaula for Ditzler in several of the Model

Re: darkest blue Ford made?
Here is the Dearborn Blue in the original Henry Ford paint, on my unrestored 1934 Phaeton. It looks a little darker in the photo, than real life.

Re: darkest blue Ford made?
I would agree with Perry, Andalucite blue (1929 Model A ) is about the darkest Ford blue I've seen. In low light it looks black.

Here's a '29 Business Coupe painted in Andalusite Blue. Note how the color changes in various types of light.

Some Model T's were have said to be painted a dark Blue, that was so dark that it looks black in the shade, but a nice supper dark blue in the sun. I have seen T's painted that color, and in the Model T magazine's they listed the paint as 1961 Ford Midnight Blue. Herm. |

Re: darkest blue Ford made?
When I painted my '34 pickup we needed a dark blue similar to Dearborn Blue. The paint store ended up mixing Sheridan Blue which was a '51 Ford color, number M 14285; I think this was also called Colony Blue in 1949. The color was pretty dark but still had a lot of blue in it. Scott

Re: darkest blue Ford made?
I painted my 36 Sheridan blue. It is slightly darker than Washington blue. That Andalusite blue does look awful dark.

Re: darkest blue Ford made?
Does anybody have the formula for andalusite blue or Dearborn Blue in Centari by chance? I got a '33 Tudor I'm going to paint Black. But a little hint of Blue wouldn't hurt.
Thank you, Tim |

Re: darkest blue Ford made?
I had a Lyon Blue 40 sedan and at an inside show the car appeared black and was even commented on about the black color-maybe flourescent lights?
