Champion C-16 C VS Champion 3x?
Hello Gang,
My car is currently running Champion C-16 C plugs. I pulled them out and they look a little worse for wear. The center electrode is noticeably worn out near the ground electrode. I picked up some Champion 3X's as recommended here. I am running a C head (with the unique water pump) on an otherwise stock motor. Should I have any concern with such a swap? I posed this question on the original 'which plug do you run' thread. It looked like it was going to get lost in a hurry. I moved it here. Thank you for your time, Ted |

With a C Head you are still running a low compression engine (at 4.6/1). The C16C plugs were a replacement for the C-4 plugs made for the C-head which were a replacement for the 3X plugs. You will be fine with the 3X plugs.

And don't throw away any plugs that still fire OK, especially the 3X plugs. When the center electrode wears to a rounded end, just file it flat again. The plugs spark easier from a sharp edge than they do from a rounded tip.
