Distributor questions
What is the insulating washer on the condenser used for and is it needed. I hace two distributors one with a two piece shaft and one with a one piece shaft. Is one better than the other and why?

Re: Distributor questions
2 piece shaft
Washer goes on back of condenser to attach to lowerplate of distributor. See diagram on page 79of brattons catalog. |

Re: Distributor questions
I like the 2 piece shaft. This arrangement allows for some misalignment without adding extra load to the distributor bushings.
My opinion, Chris W. |

The washer also provides a stop for the original black filler stuck in the hole. Most important, is the screw can bottom out and spin the condenser terminal without the washer. |
