Thumbs up What's popular

I'm in the process of negotiating for the dump truck engine the merc engine 255 I think. I'm gonna run down there and see what he wants for them this month. It'll take some time to complete, but to have the body and frame + suspinsion would be a great start. I like the merc engine but its heavy and I'd like to move down the road cruise, but have a fairly light engine, my major question is how to get the heavy out of the front end?

All Merc engines are around 520lbs give or take a few. If it's heavier it might be the bigger truck engine, which is not a Merc, and is not suitable for a light car. Suggest you take a knowledgeable person with you if you're a bit sketchy on them.

depending on the truck size and year, 2 ton and up it will have a 317, 337 big ford flathead in it, they were used in some lincolns for a couple of years, not a good engine for trans plant in small ford cars or trucks

The 337 flathed V8 came in 49-51 heavy trucks. The obvious tell-tale is that the distributor is located at the rear of the engine instead of the front. They weigh over 800 lbs with regular accessories.
