Um. I think these are "flywheel housings." Bell-housings refer to the rear axle halves.

You may aid your case by evaluating and mentioning their "crack" condition. What little I can see in the group indicates no visible cracks - a desired condition.

Good luck.

Um, I think "bell housings" are the bell-shaped guy in between the transmission and the flywheel housing. Just my couple cents...

I think you're right. "Trumpets" are the part I named.

Bump

Corndog,
Joe is right, many flywheel housings have cracks near the lower two big bolt holes that are used to fasten the flywheel housing to the engine. I have 3 housings that have cracks in them. Luckily I have one good one to use on the car I am building. Cracked housings can be used, but it is not desirable use them.

Thanks for the advice guys. Regardless of what the correct name for these is, so far it seems no one wants any of them. They are heavy and in my way, so come on with your offers or I am scrapping them. There is also an original flywheel and clutch sitting next to the flywheel housings. Anyone interested in that?

I might be interested in a flywheel housing - if it is solid. I might be able to make a trip there in the next week or so.

Keep me posted and don't scrap yet.
