Amazing the dude could even drive it... Probably why it ended in a lake. Feel bad for the owner, senseless bs.

Thanks, Not really sure it even works. I took it all apart and polished it with 2000 grit and mothers mag polish when i had foot surgery and nothing else to do. It cycles and I had no parts left over ha, but havent shot it yet to confirm.

That guy is spooky looking.

if the gas shut off were turned off, he probably would have had no clue about that. I don't know if it was on or off, just guessing was more than likely left on.

pretty weird characters coming out of that area of the country. They need to get jobs and quit fooling with dope.

I thought Portland had all the weird characters. Must have exported some to Bend.

Some of the sad parts of this story could be described as:

1. That this poor senior citizen owner has suffered such a terrible lost when his pride possession Model A was wrecked .... and let us face common sense facts ..... at 79 ..... he may never be able to enjoy showing his Model A at this church ever again in its former pristine condition in his lifetime.

2. On the other hand, besides paying for this homeless guy's temporary room & board & hair cut, "all" of us will share the cost of supporting this homeless guy for the rest of his life ............. plus ....... that of all of the many fatherless children he will most probably have in the near future ......... our problems of paying for these types of guy's are multiplying quickly & getting far worse each day.

3. Many will agree that "today", more than ever in our history, that we may be approaching a time when we "all" should begin to look at ourselves in our mirrors & just "think" first before making choices for our future & the future lives of our children & grandchildren.

4. Fairly simple .. we already know that A Model A engine runs only when its fuel system & electrical system are joined together & "United" .... I have to admit that I am fully motivated to get our Model A parts properly connected.

Love how the thread title has "deranged idiot" in it.

Same in my country.

Looks like that car is an easy fix. Is that a crack in the windshield from someones head? i hope that hurt.

It looks (from the total damage) that the hood was squeezed out of it's rear pin mount when the car hit the water and the top of the radiator was forced backwards, causing the hood itself to damage the windshield, visor, and roof as it became a separate part.

Wow. This is why I lock my car, but I'm surprised the guy knew how to get it started.

Many a fund could set up to aid this poor fellow in need, and get younger folks to help restore his wonderful car..

Unfortunately, he's just one of the many goofballs that can been seen in central Or - NoCal. I have relatives in Bend, and see a lot of that type walking around. Must be the ideal climate for growing high potency weed.

I second the motion - treat him like a horse thief. Or at least put him in the stocks for a couple days.
Sorry to say, but we have way too many weirdos like that here in S. Oregon. They need their "medicine" at least 4 times a day.

What a terrible outcome for a nice car.

Went to a wedding in Bend a few years back and was amazed at the number and extent of tattoos. And the guys were even worse.

I was wondering that too. Maybe he knew a little more about the car than we think. He may have had an acquaintance with the owner; perish the thought.
