steering disassembly
O.K. This shouldn't be this difficult. I'm disassembling the front end on my 40 sedan project. I can't get the drag link connectors apart. I've tapped, pounded, and cussed. I've worked on model a's but this is new to me. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Re: steering disassembly
You need a "pickle fork", or tie-rod separator, like the one pictured in the below link from Harbor Freight. They're available at many BETTER auto parts stores, too. DD

Re: steering disassembly
Using two stout ball pein hammers to hit both sides of the steering arm, pitman arm, or spindle will accomplish the same thing for free and cause no damage. Loosen nut (but don't remove) on tie rod end (or ball joint, too) hit both sides of the forging simultanously and the tapered stud will pop loose. Best part is no damage to the rod end, should you want to re-use it.
