With freezing rain, snow, and damp miserable weather we are having here, it should be an easy drive cause everybody else will be going south.

Lots of interesting trips there. Thanks.

Leaving from Fairfax Station, Virginia, I think what I'll do is this:

I-495 North around Washington DC
US 15 North to Harrisburg
I-81 North to Scranton
I-84 East to I-87
I-87 to Albany and Troy

... and then into Vermont and on to Ol' Ron's house.

Weatherwise, this trip is planned for late next May so I won't need to worry about snow... I hope.

In that case you may consider heading to leesburg and taking the ferry across the Potomac. Or 7 west to 15. Nice drive. You visiting car guys in our area? Or other stuff?

Both. I'm Auto Training up to visit my sister in Fairfax Station, then driving up to spend three or four days with Ol' Ron in Vermont working on some projects together, then a few other people visits before Auto Training back home.

Nice driving adventure mixed fun train rides.

You will never make it in that Chevy. Better take a bus. On your way up take 250 in West Virginia, You will get to see your taillights.
