question about exhaust manifolds
was looking at a friend's '41 merc the other day & noticed that it's left manifold has it's outlet further forward than my ford manifold. [evidently to clear the steering box] the ford parts book seems to show the same part # for ford & merc. can any one explain this? also, does anyone know of any photos of all the different stock exhaust manifolds made by ford? thanks!

Re: question about exhaust manifolds
The Ford prefix is (78) and the Merc prefix is (19A) for the 1941 L/H exhaust manifold.
These numbers were verified with the 1938-46 FORD & MERCURY illustrated parts catalog. Last edited by Gary in La.; 01-28-2018 at 07:20 PM. Reason: add info |

If anyone can say for sure whether Ford/Merc or early late, I would find that info interesting. Mart. |
