'40 coupe - start - up
when i try to start engine.......after cranking a couple of turns.......engine bucks
hard and stops but is ready to try again. I thing engine is too far advanced. which direction of the adjustment is retard and advance? comments? thank you fordman |

The points plate needs to be rotated anti clockwise, as viewed from the front of the motor. If a divers helmet type dizzy, the adjuster needs to be moved down. If a crab type, the adjuster needs to be moved up.

Left side cap...right side cap. Those little numbers dance around and can screw up anybody!
