Juice brakes master cylinder?
I’m about to go from mechanical to juice brakes. I have everything I need except the master cylinder. Not sure how this is going to work with the factory clutch peddle. I’d rather not use the battery box kit. Pictures would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Safety first, make sure your design is good and workmanship is too. I've seen some cobbled up juice brake designs that made the car into a deathtrap.

Re: Juice brakes master cylinder?
Dennis Cling in Arizona offers a master cylinder kit that mounts to the left side of the transmission. A very easy kit to install.

Re: Juice brakes master cylinder?
Here’s a quick and cheap way to install a master cylinder using the mechanical brake cross bar and brake rods. No, it does not interfere with the muffler!

Re: Juice brakes master cylinder?
I want to advoid the battery box conversion it is way to expensive and doesn’t come with a master cylinder. I think I’m going to add another arm to the crossshaft and mount the master cylinder on the passenger side. There’s already a hole in the crossmember.

I used the stock holes to mount the MC. You do need to cut a hole in the floor on the passenger to access the MC. Make sure the hole is large enough to get your hand in to remove and replace the MC cover.

Re: Juice brakes master cylinder?
Killerbee, I fought that same thinking. I wanted the Clings kit for a '39 transmission conversion....really nice. My problem, ultimately, was all the unwanted friction of the original brake cross shaft to move the master cylinder. The Ford master cylinder is available at any NAPA store across the country for about $40, and I wanted the safety of the dual circuit. I recommend the Andrews Green book...he has all the alternative ways to do the conversion...some of which I liked. My problem was with the math to not over/under stroke the master. Trust me, if you were to see the overbuild of Daves kit you would feel a bit better about the cost.

Re: Juice brakes master cylinder?
I liked Dave’s battery box so much that even though I don’t have juice brakes I had Dave build me a box without the master cylinder and brake levers.

I agree I have had Dave's battery box system for 8 years and never had to adjust it or think about it. When I bought it, it included the dual master cylinder.
