Default 1941 pickup hood latch / grille brace question. Also safety catch?

I have modified my V8 type grille brace to work with the 41 pu hood latch. The 41 pu hood has the latch further forward for commonality with the 6 cyl. I was just wondering if anyone has a 6 cyl grille brace that they could post a picture of? I've searched online but can only find pics of the repro'd V8 brace. I'll post a pic of what I ended up with, but I am curious as to how the factory did it.

I can't see any sign of a secondary safety catch. Am I right in assuming the 41 pickups never had one? I will test out my home made latch and if it seems secure enough I'll probably just leave it at that.

Mine doesn't......but it's not original. Chrome one is mine, the other was seen at a show.

Thanks for the pics. If the one at the show is stock, it's a bit odd how they've done it. Can anyone say if that is stock? I wonder if it is a 6 cyl cross piece added to a V8 brace? The V8 part looks rivetted in, the foremost brace, which looks like a factory pressing does not appear to be rivetted in.

I'm interested in the 6 cyl variant, presumably, the radiator was further forward, does that mean it was narrower too?

Inquisitive minds need to know.

Mart
To further complicate the problem, ford also had the four cylinder engine in 41.

The pic posted above does look like the parts in this image - this was from a want ad on the hamb. I can't see how the parts go together, or how all the bracing that is built into the V8 part is used on a 6.

Anyway, nonetheless, the second image shows my home made latching plate. I made this before seeing any images of the 6 cyl latching parts.

The "tongue" for the V8 latch secondary lever is bent up out of the way. The front of the latching window is rolled down and then forward. The hook on the hood fits into it nicely.
