Default 1939 Ford Standard Coupe Doors

My query being:
Will doors off a 39 Ford standard sedan fit a 39 standard coupe? Or is there some work required? Understand there may be work required around top edge of door.
Appreciate any advice on this one.
Thanks Phil

A fordor sedan door is close. The top edge is too tall (especially) at the B pillar and will have to be cut down to fit the coupe.
I have done this numerous times. I used to have a template so I could match the door to the opening on the coupe.
Not a terrible job at all but time consuming to do properly.

Phil..... I know that these are of the '35-'36 variety, but the difference is similar on the '39-'40 doors. Note that the extreme UPPER, REAR slope of the COUPE doors has already begun its slant downward as it follows the profile of the gutter. In other words, at this rearmost point on the door, you are already BEHIND the peak of the roof as it begins its slope downwards toward the rear. Hopefully, this gives you an idea of what you're up against.

Coopman has offered some great photos. The '40 door requires more surgery than the 36 but again, you now have a better idea of what you're up against.

This site is full of very helpful people who kindly give great advice and share their knowledge freely for better understanding of many areas. The panel beater had another option to graft the top portion of the 39 coupe door onto the bottom section of a sedan door. So I'm confident it will be sorted.

Seems like I remember hearing tell of doing similar with 4-door sedan FRONTS on a 5-window coupe. 3-windows are out'a luck!
