Default Fan Belt

I need to replace the fan belt on my 30 tudor. The one I took off was too wide and got jammed between the pulley and the front axle u bolt. What part number should I look for?

It could be your motor is sitting to low in front or you have frame sag. On my coupe I have no problem putting on a fan belt, but on my roadster I have to fight it to get a fan belt on as it appears to me that the frame sag on my roadster is the causing the motor to be closer to the front crossmember.

Depending on the condition of your front motor mount, it is quite common that there is a need to jack the front of the motor up slightly, in order to remove or install the belt. As the Model A belt is adjusted relatively slack to protect the water pump and generator bushings and bearings, a belt with a thinner profile, might not provide enough surface contact on the inside surfaces of the pulleys. You might have to slacken off the rear motor mount bolts, before you try lifting the engine. An additional spacer washer under the front motor mount yoke, might work for the future. Comments ?

A 5L belt is the correct width, which is 5/8".

I had a similar problem, seems that when i bought my belt from BRATTONS i have not had the problem since. I went through 4 belts in 6 months. I have had the same belt on now from brattons for 1 year!
