Swap ads
Maybe I should just ignore and move on but maybe i need some one to tell me so.
Seems one or two sellers post 1/2 of the posts in model a. The redundancy and relists seem to engulf the site. Are there rules about excessive use, limits? Or, is this really great and gets more parts out there for us? I find it annoying to flip thru these but that is what I will continue to do. I enjoy the site! They must not sell much as the same stuff gets bbt for months! Maybe I'm just in a bad mood! I should go take my meds! |

Re: Swap ads
I know that they just instituted a rule for that type of classified posting over on the Garage Journal classifieds. If you haven't been to Garage Journal, click on the link at the very bottom of this page and check out the classified section, a great place to find some great tools.
They want you to post your items for sale in one thread, that way other sellers don't get pushed out by someone listing 30 items in individual threads. I agree with the rule and think it is a good idea, but until that rule is adopted here, everyone is playing by the rules. There is a forum on the opening "forums" page with the heading of "questions & suggestions", this is for the editors of Fordbarn to read. I think that this is where this type of question belongs.

You know, it is amazing that several years ago we were really complaining about how the old Fordbarn was SO outdated and stuff was difficult at best to find. THEN, some (me included) always want to complain about how eBay or Facebook is always seemingly changing things for no good reason that makes it difficult to remember how to navigate there. I agree with Bill on this, and I guess on some things I would like to see a change, ...but on the other hand I don't guess I do. A fickle bunch we are ...sometimes!! . . |

Don't knock Altoona-I was out there and the barns are literally full of parts. A lifetime accumulation....

Re: Swap ads
I bought a radiator for a AA project from the guy in Altoona. The part was very reasonably priced and Chuck is a nice guy to deal with.

Re: Swap ads
Wish I lived closer to Altoona. It sounds like a good parts place, plus you can visit the railroad museum. I've never been there, but I've read they have a good RR museum.
