Default Machine shop in Raleigh NC

This is not an endorsement, but I got some info on a machine shop in Raleigh that works on Model A and flathead V8 engines. It's the Walker NAPA at 705 Six Forks Rd.

I was referred there by a local restoration place as the shop to which they outsource their rebuilds. I called and asked what services they did, and the fellow on the phone said "We don't pour babbitt, but we do everything else."

Figured I would post it because there are very few shops within driving distance here. I wouldn't consider them a rebuilder, but to deck a head, cylinder or valve work, might be worth checking out.

I can confirm Walker NAPA on Six Forks Rd in Raleigh as an established long-time automotive machine shop...pretty full compliment of equipment and capabilities...one of the few left that are accessible for walk in customers. I have used them for several simple operations like turning drums, pressing bearings, and the like.

Good to know. I have used them in the past but I thought the machine shop closed when Walker Auto bought them out.

Great info. I am in Charlotte and can also take care of your old engine needs. Cheers.

I suggest that you contact Jersey Mike at 1-910-695-5334. Jersey Mike has a shop and he rebuilds engines. I bought a Model B rebuilt from him and it runs very well. Mike is in Pinebluff, and he is a nice guy to work with.
