Default How much for a 1947 Flathead V8

Running 12 years ago when taken out of car. Storred inside on a shelf all that time. What would you(me) offer for it?

With a garantee, from a trustworthy source, it's worth a lot more than an engine that was "running when I parked it"... meaning when it stopped, I stopped. I have seen a bunch of those.
I drove my 39 deluxe for a bit when I first got it, ran ok... Turned out that it had cracks- real BIG ones, in three cyls. Glad I did not try to sell it...
As is, figure two out of three times that a core is likely to have major defects... People don't usually remove these things til there's a reason...
$100 to $1500 Karl

Karl is right. Unless you for sure there are not cracks other than the "Ford Ones".....................and that is almost impossible to find out unless you have the motor down to the bare block and have it mag'd and pressure tested..........................it's only worth scrap metal.............unless it has
some nice vintage hot rod pieces on it.

IMHO

When ever I hear that Ithat just meas a rebuild with a engine that has been inside . Now the way flatheads are I will be you it's stuck too unless he turned it over or puts oil into the plug holes every so often . So as for price that can go from FREE to $100 plus .
I would insist removing the heads to see what it looks like inside and if the say no walk away !
Just my opinion .
