Interesting; more Buicks than Fords in that footage, surprisingly.

Lots of GM cars and Mopars, but not a lot of Fords.

Check out the upside down '36 front bumper bar on the '35 Ford at the 30 second mark.

Re: 1940's Los Angeles Dowtown !
Good one. Typical L.A. with lots of smog. At 1:42 you see a hiboy roadster going down the street with somebody in the rumble seat and at 3:12 there's an A roadster parked at the curb. Lots of good old Fords in this one.

Re: 1940's Los Angeles Dowtown !
At the bottom, right of every YouTube video, there is a "six-tooth, GEAR-looking" icon with a hole in the middle. Click on that icon. It will give you a choice of slowing-down the video to 3/4, 1/2 or 1/4 speed. Quite handy for situations just like this. DD

Saw a shop advertising $35.00 will paint your car! Could not see a name...perhaps Earl Schieb?

Knowing L.A. it probably looks like a dump.

Re: 1940's Los Angeles Dowtown !
Certainly appears the hot rod fever was alive & well, looked to be a 32 cabriolet/roadster ? cresting the hill & passing by a 28-29 'A' roadster hot rod with 39 or similar tail-lamps mounted in the rear deck pan. rather ironic both vehicles were captured in the same frame in what appears to be a random film clip, but then who knows perhaps the camera was in the hands of another hot rodder recording a club outing.

Re: 1940's Los Angeles Dowtown !
Upon a second look the street rod appears to also have an inverted 33-36 rear bumper...something that has been done through the years for the sake of doing it because one could just to be different than the norm.... although, it might provide as built-in protection similar to a conventional bolt on bumper guard.
