Default 51 F1 brake pedal ....lower?

Hi guys , my 51 f1 truck .After an accident at work resulting in a spine op my right leg is a little weak on lifting, the problem is I sometimes find it an effort to lift the leg high enough to apply the brake pedal as you know its higher than a normal everyday car ,any ideas to lower the pedal a little without potential danger ? I,v even thought of cutting a small section off the pedal upright to shorten it and welding, I dunno just a thought , any ideas ? thanks Jim.

To shorten the pedal is not a good idea you may need what you cut off to stop.
Find a car with power brake and low pedal it will be a cowl mount.

I have the same problem. What I did was glue a 1" rubber to the normal floor mount bumper. Then I re-adjusted the brake rod to suit. I know that this takes away some of of the potential brake pedal travel, but if you have a firm pedal that is still 2" off the floor, you should be okay.
