1935 Experimental intake
Saw this listed on EBAY. I am guessing its 1935 because of the prefix in the part number.Seller claims his friend bought it at a special auction at Ford Museum in Dearborn in the 80's.No fuel pump provisions.Kingston Carb.

Re: 1935 Experimental intake
wonder what they did for a fuel pump and why the vac plate under the carb. That set up might be a real bear with vapor lock with what appears to be the feed pipe location at the bottom of the float chamber.............

Re: 1935 Experimental intake
Strange for sure. Maybe an atempt at fuel economy..?? Thanks for sharing.

Hey Sheldon ....You sure do come-up with some interesting junk from time to time! I know that YOUR pictured manifold is NOT the one seen in my pictures, but I have to wonder if it MIGHT NOT have had something to do with the Ford program which cast ~TEN Aluminum blocks for experimental aviation use. The time frame sure is right....1935-ish! Supposedly, this is one of the legendary 10 ALUMINUM Ford blocks. Below is Ford's "15-P" which flew terribly and never amounted to anything to write home about. But it did have what is a Ford V8 with some very "1935-ish" attributes, and one could easily imagine the block being one of the weight-saving ALUMINUM examples. With YOUR example having no fuel pump provision, it might easily fit in with an "airframe-mounted" fuel pump system. Just a wild-assed possibility for your manifold's original intention.
