Default ‘51 F-1 Rear Axles?

I’m going thru the Dana 44 rear diff out of a ‘51 F-1. The problem I have run into is that the axle itself has been worn down at the seal surface (the seal that is just inboard of the wheel bearing) to the point where I seriously doubt that we could get a good seal, even with new seals. Here’s the rub; can’t find replacement axles anywhere. We are replacing the carrier anyway so switching from the original 19 spline to a 30 spline would not be a problem but we can’t find all the necessary dimension to confirm that the bearings (the stock ones or something different) will fit. Is there a sealed bearing that can be used to eliminate the seal altogether? It’s my understanding that in the old days the groove would be welded up and the surface machined to the original dimensions. I know that I’m not the first one to run into this problem, what’s the answer.

I had a worn groove on the axle and used a speedi sleeve. Worked well.
