Default South Wind Stewart Warner Heater - Parts Needed

Hey y'all, I'm rebuilding my South Wind heater and am looking for some spare NOS parts packs. Specifically, I need the ceramic disks inside and a new glow plug.

Anyone got anything or got a line on who may have parts packs?

Thanks!

There was a Canadian guy that was the Southwind king. A google search should bring it up if he is still at it

please tell me you are not going to actually run that thing. Lets see, a gasoline fire between the passengers legs. I am putting mine in my 41 pickup, but it will never have gasoline to it.

Yes, I've been using it for quite some time. Works great. Some "Latter Day Tree Huggers" gave them a bad rap back in the day. There has never, to my knowledge, been a fire or injury shown to have been caused by a Southwind Gas Heater. Prove me wrong.

Though never OFFICIALLY PROVEN by NTSB to be the cause of the fire that lead to the crash of Ricky Nelson's DC-3 on 12/31/1985, it was well-documented by the two pilots that the Southwind Gas Cabin Heater that was mounted mid-cabin on the right side of the fuselage had been giving them trouble since leaving Guntersville, Alabama. The heater was later seen to have smoke coming from it before the cabin filled with smoke and flames. The eventual crash killed Rick Nelson, his girlfriend and three others. The pilots both survived, although injured.

Yes, I am aware of that tragic accident that killed Ricky Nelson. That is not PROOF my friend. That is speculation, postulation or conjecture. The blower motor on a Southwind is electric. (As an aside, It is well known that electrical wires contain smoke and when the smoke is released they cease to function. LOL)

Lawson, this sounds like your scripted jury address closing argument, as the defense attorney for Southwind! LOL

I live just a few miles from the company that performed the accident investigation working alongside the FAA after the crash of Ricky Nelson's plane. We visited their facility a few months ago and the gentleman that was actually on the scene and did the investigation spoke to our group. (He still has the vertical stabilizer from that DC3 hanging on the wall in their shop). In the final analysis after an exhaustive investigation and a sizeable collection of testimony including statements from the pilot and co-pilot (who both survived by the way), maintenance records, etc. it was determined that the cause of the fire in the cabin was caused by human error due to improper operation, failure to follow proper safety procedures, and faulty maintenance of the equipment, NOT the fault of the gasoline fired heater itself.

That is not exactly true. Co-pilot Brad Rank was criticized by the NTSB for not following the in-flight fire checklist after he discovered the in-flight fire, opening the fresh air vents instead of leaving them closed, not instructing the passengers to use supplemental oxygen and not attempting to fight the fire with the handheld fire extinguisher that was in the cockpit.
